CHN Brings Orthopedic Services Back to Curry County
Expands Access with First-Ever Local Hip and Knee ReplacementsGold Beach, OR – Curry Health Network (CHN) is proud to announce the return of orthopedic care to Curry County beginning October 7, 2025, marking the first time in more than five years that local patients will have access to these essential services. For the first time ever, total hip and knee replacements will be available close to home at Curry General Hospital in Gold Beach, eliminating the need for residents to travel long distances for specialized surgical care.
Orthopedic coverage at CHN is made possible through a trusted partnership with Rural Physicians Group, a national physician-led practice that also supplies CHN’s hospitalists and one of its two general surgeons. Two highly experienced orthopedic surgeons, Jose Inzunza, MD, and Jerod Hines, MD, will provide care on alternating two-week on/two-week off schedules. This model ensures 24/7 orthopedic coverage for the emergency department while also supporting physician work-life balance.

“This is a historic moment for Curry County,” said Virginia (Ginny) Williams, Chief Executive Officer of CHN. “Bringing orthopedics back after more than five years—and offering hip and knee replacements for the very first time—means our patients can now receive life-changing surgical care without leaving the community they call home.”
Williams added: “This approach ensures consistent, high-quality orthopedic coverage for our community while supporting a schedule that promotes physician work-life balance. It’s a win for our patients, the clinicians, and Curry County.”
