Unit Secretary - Emergency Room- Per Diem
 Performs and participates in administrative duties which assist a hospital unit to function optimally. Maintains an organized healthcare setting and allows medical and nursing staff to focus on patient care. Maintains a line of communication between the patients and clinical staff.
Essential Functions:
●Proficient in use of the computer, with good typing skills.
●Understands medical terminology and hospital department workflows.
●Enters orders in the computer accurately.
●Answers telephones professionally and promptly.
●Assists with registration, billing, and insurance authorization activities as needed.
●Schedules appointments, arranges transportation as needed.
●Familiar with Policies, Procedures, and Protocols. Care and Documentation meets current standards of practice and complies with all such guidelines.
●Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department and in support of Curry Health Network's Mission, Vision and shared Values.
Minimum Education & Experience:
●High school graduate or equivalent.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
●Moderate computer skill including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
●Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work with people in close situations, using excellent communication and listening skills.
●Strong organizational and prioritization ability.
●Multitasking and time management is critical to performance of the role.
