Rhonda Gardiner Named CHN's May 2026 Service Excellence Superstar

Rhonda Gardiner, Specialty Care Authorization Specialist, has been selected as CHN's Service Excellence Superstar.

Rhonda was nominated by Credentialing Specialist Beth Beasley for her advocacy on behalf of a patient experiencing severe pain that was significantly impacting daily life. The patient required authorization for both a colonoscopy and a rubber band ligation procedure, but the insurance carrier initially denied coverage for the band ligation.

Rather than accepting the denial, Rhonda urgently resubmitted the request and personally advocated for the patient by clearly explaining the medical necessity of the procedure and the patient's level of discomfort. Through her persistence and dedication, authorization was obtained one day before the scheduled procedure, allowing the patient to receive timely care.

Rhonda's commitment to patient advocacy and ensuring access to quality care reflects CHN's values of Service, Teamwork, Curiosity, and Integrity. This is Rhonda's second Service Excellence Superstar recognition, having previously received the award in May 2024.
