Patty Cochran Named CHN's November 2025 Service Excellence Superstar
Patty Cochran, Medical Technologist in the Laboratory, has been named CHN’s Service Excellence Superstar for November 2025! She was nominated by her director, Nicole Tripodi, and selected by a committee of former Superstars in recognition of her outstanding demonstration of CHN’s core values: service, teamwork, curiosity, and integrity.
Patty is no stranger to this recognition—she has been nominated multiple times, each nomination well deserved. This month’s recognition highlights a moment when Patty went truly above and beyond to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
During a critical situation involving a shortage of quality control (QC) material, both laboratories were running dangerously low, putting patient testing at risk. With the next shipment not arriving until Monday, staff were carefully rationing drops to avoid waste, and the outlook was concerning. Without being asked, Patty took initiative. She contacted Bay Area Hospital, confirmed they were using the same QC lot as CHN, and learned they had extra. Patty drove to BAH to pick up the materials, ensuring the lab had enough QC to continue testing safely until the shipment arrived. Her quick thinking and willingness to act had a direct and meaningful impact on patient care.
“Patty saw a problem, took ownership, and found a solution without hesitation,” said Nicole Tripodi. “Her initiative made all the difference, and I am incredibly grateful for her dedication and commitment.” Congratulations, Patty, thank you!
