Nutrition Services

Curry Health Network provides Nutrition Services by two part time Registered Dietitian Nutritionists who, together, have a combined 55 years of experience.

Jane Doroff, MPA, RDN, LD and Tamara Johnson, MEd, CDCES, RDN, LD help translate the science of nutrition into practical solutions for healthy living by using their expertise to help you make unique, positive lifestyle changes by offering evidence-based care that's tailored specifically to meet your needs.

Outpatient Services:

Many aspects of your health are impacted by the food you eat. Dieting is not always about weight loss. Many people create new diets to address specific health concerns such as high blood pressure and excessive stress.

Our Registered Dietitians complete a full nutrition assessment and provide in-depth nutrition education for outpatients with a variety of health concerns. Based on your needs and nutrition goals, a personalized meal plan is developed to satisfy your food preferences and lifestyle. Common conditions that can be improved with dietary changes include:
Obesity
Diabetes
High blood pressure
High cholesterol
Digestive problems
Eating disorders
Kidney (renal) disease

Each person has a different body type and metabolism. While general diet guidelines can help you eat healthier, there is no "one-size-fits-all" diet that can help you achieve specific goals. Your diet needs to be built from the ground up, based on information from your medical history, eating habits, and current medical condition.

Referrals

A physician referral is required to schedule an appointment with one of our registered dietitian nutritionists. Your physician can refer you by completing this convenient Specialty Referral form and faxing it to 541.412.2084.

Inpatient Services (for hospitalized patients):

Our Registered Dietitians assess all patients who are at high nutritional risk and make recommendations to their physician based on the patient's needs. This may include changing the diet order, adjusting tube feeding or total parenteral nutrition (TPN) settings, adding oral nutrition supplements, or providing the patient with diet education prior to discharge.
