John Christian Recognized as CHN's November 2022 Service Excellence Superstar

Curry Health Network is thrilled to announce that John Christian, RN was selected by a committee of his peers as its Service Excellence Superstar of the Month for November 2022 after he was nominated by the spouse of a surgery patient for his wonderful demonstration of excellence.

The nomination read: "John should be commended for his dedication to the patients and their family members. He was compassionate and caring. He took care of my husband but made sure I had directions to Portland after my husband was life-flighted.

"I appreciate all his kindness and professionalism that he demonstrated at a very traumatic time in our lives while he was caring for my husband. I felt comforted knowing that I could make the long drive because he gave me excellent directions. He is an outstanding nurse, and you don't find a lot of them nowadays. He is a wonderful person and he helped save my husband's life."

"He deserves it!" his supervisor, Director of Surgical Services Mercedes Aguilar Perez exclaimed. "John came in on his day off, he assisted Dr. Carlson in the case, and he helped Janet in PACU (post anesthesia care unit) to transfer the patient out."

John has been a registered nurse (RN) since 1995 and has worked at Curry Health Network (CHN) for more than seven years. While at CHN, he has held a number of roles including serving as an RN in Urgent Care and in the Emergency Department, Trauma RN Coordinator, Nursing House Supervisor, and is now a part of the Surgical Services team. Additionally, John offers BLS and ACLS certification and re-certification to CHN staff.
