CHN Welcomes Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Bruce Perry

GOLD BEACH, OR - July 15, 2021 Curry Health Network is pleased to announce the addition of orthopedic surgeon Bruce Perry, M.D. to its team of medical specialists. Dr. Perry has three decades of experience and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the healthcare system where he will begin seeing patients July 19 at Curry Medical Practice in Gold Beach and at Curry Medical Center in Brookings. He will perform surgeries in the state-of-the-art surgery suites at Curry General Hospital.

“photoThroughout his more than 30 years as a general orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Perry has provided a variety of care. "I'm a general ortho surgeon, which means I do everything," he explained. "I do shoulders, hips, knees, hands, feet, sports injuries, trauma. My career has been very full of all-nighters and working through a weekend of trauma procedures."

As important as Dr. Perry's experience is, his deep personal connection with patients is equally notable. "My overall approach is that the patient is number one, and I've never lost that focus," Dr. Perry shared. "My practice has always been personal, and I've been taking care of the kids of the kids of the kids (of patients). You know them. That is a very special gift and privilege."

His personable demeanor and relationship-focused patient approach make Dr. Perry a perfect addition to the community, and to Curry Health Network (CHN). He will provide a full range of general orthopedic services at CHN and offer endoscopic carpal tunnel release, an outpatient procedure that helps alleviate the pain, numbness and tingling of carpal tunnel syndrome, and gives patients a faster and often less painful recovery than traditional surgery.

Dr. Perry also understands the unique needs of the aging population and is eager to serve this group with respect and dignity as they experience orthopedic issues associated with aging, such as pain or injuries from falls. When asked about patients who have understandable anxiety and concern when visiting an orthopedic physician, Dr. Perry described his process. "When you see a patient, you need to get a feel for one another. It's an interview both ways. It's about developing a relationship. When I get an apprehensive patient, I start slowly to earn their trust."

Dr. Perry received his medical degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing and earned his master's degree in microbiology and bachelor's degree in biology from Occidental College in Los Angeles. He completed a medical internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and a residency in orthopedic surgery at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Prior to joining Curry Health Network, Dr. Perry had a successful private practice in Grants Pass, Oregon, with hospital privileges at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.

Curry Health Network is excited to welcome Dr. Perry and provide important orthopedic services to people in the communities the healthcare system serves. A referral to Dr. Perry from a patient's Primary Care Provider is required and can be faxed to 541.412.2084. To learn more about Dr. Perry, visit his web page.
