Congratulations to Kirsten Meyer, Service Excellence Superstar!

Kirsten Meyer, Lead Laboratory Technician at Curry Medical Center in Brookings, was nominated for this award by a coworker who recognized her for demonstrating accountability, teamwork, and excellence that went above and beyond the ordinary.

"When one of the night shift lab techs abandoned her post and quit in the middle of a shift without any advance notice, Kirsten volunteered to cover the open night shifts until a replacement tech could be trained to work the position. She has been covering those shifts in addition to her regular duties as lead tech, such as creating schedules, setting up new instruments, and implementing improvements to staff communication.

Kirsten has set a shining example for others through her commitment to teamwork and her dedication to accountability, demonstrating excellence through her actions."
